Research associate in musicology at KU Leuven (The Sound of Music: Plainchant in the Low Countries 1400–1600). His publications concentrate on the editorial activity of notators and the use of music to construct identity. He works both on the music of the trouvères and on revisions to plainchant in the later Middle Ages.
